This is an old piece, I would probably date this close to the 1900's. A LOT of patina. The brooch is extremely unique with both the abalone and the tortoiseshell color inlay. The piece is marked Sterling and Hencho En Mex, with the initial RE. It looks like the backings have been replaced/fixed.
